Linux Managed Operations & Support

Keep Linux services observable, supportable and maintainable through a clearly scoped monthly operating agreement. Monitoring, incident response, maintenance and reporting—without unapproved changes or unverified SLA promises.

Ongoing managed operations

Operational discipline beyond the initial project.

Architecture and migration remain separate consulting services. This offering covers continuing operational ownership within explicitly agreed boundaries.

01

Monitoring & incident triage

Agree meaningful host and service signals, reduce alert noise, record events and establish engineer-owned escalation.

02

Maintenance & patch planning

Document update windows, dependency risks, patch readiness and rollback procedures; execute changes only within approved scope.

03

Security baseline care

Track OS lifecycle, authentication, access drift, privileged paths and hardening findings with prioritized remediation advice.

04

Backup & recovery assurance

Review backup health and restoration responsibilities; conduct evidence-backed restoration exercises when contracted.

05

Runbooks & controlled automation

Prefer validated Ansible/AWX jobs with least-privilege access, change approval, verification and an accountable owner.

06

Monthly engineering reporting

Summarize incidents, infrastructure risks, completed maintenance, open actions and service trends without invented metrics.

Proposed engagement levels

Choose an operating model—not a misleading SLA.

These are illustrative service tiers for scoping enquiries, not published fixed-price subscriptions or a binding offer. Final coverage, inventory limits, response targets and fees are agreed after assessment.

01 / OPERATIONS PLAN

Essential

Small Linux environments requiring a structured operational baseline

  • Agreed monitoring scope and alert review
  • Scheduled Linux health assessment
  • Incident triage during contracted support hours
  • Monthly operational summary

Business-hours or scheduled support window, by agreement.

02 / OPERATIONS PLAN

Business

Growing estates with regular incident and change-management needs

  • Essential scope, tailored to the estate
  • Defined incident-priority and escalation process
  • Planned patch and maintenance coordination
  • Runbook and configuration-drift reviews

Response windows and included change capacity are contract-specific.

03 / OPERATIONS PLAN

Critical

High-impact Linux applications needing a designed support arrangement

  • Dependency-aware incident and escalation planning
  • Runbook-based recovery and restoration exercises
  • Targeted reliability and change-risk reviews
  • Custom support coverage subject to staffing validation

Extended/on-call coverage and contractual SLAs only when explicitly approved.

Proposed operations desk architecture

Monitoring, ticket ownership and approved automation.

A reference design for a future operations desk—not a claim that an AI-powered 24×7 service or integrated production platform is already live.

  1. 01Observe

Zabbix or approved monitoring produces actionable signals.

  2. 02Record

Zammad creates an auditable support ticket and ownership trail.

  3. 03Diagnose

An engineer reviews evidence. AI may assist with summarization and investigation, not authorize changes.

  4. 04Approve

Customer and engineer validate the runbook, risk and change window.

  5. 05Execute

AWX / Ansible performs approved, restricted operations with logs.

  6. 06Verify

Monitor service recovery, capture evidence and communicate the outcome.

Monitoring-to-ticket integration can be direct. AI assistance is optional and sits within read-only or explicitly authorized workflows. No unrestricted SSH or root execution by an autonomous agent.

Before onboarding

Define the support boundary.

  • Server and distribution inventory
  • Support hours, incident priorities and escalation owners
  • Network, bastion and privileged access controls
  • Patch, change and rollback responsibilities
  • Backup, restore, RPO/RTO and third-party boundaries
  • Data protection, reporting and offboarding obligations
Evidence-led support

Know what was done and why.

A scoped operations engagement should produce monitoring baselines, incident and change evidence, maintenance records, risk and dependency registers, runbook revisions and an actionable monthly engineering report.

Pricing and SLAs are proposed only after reviewing host volume, service criticality, hours, access, dependencies and operational staffing.

Frequently asked questions

Support scope, explained clearly.

Does every plan include 24×7 support?

No. Supported hours, escalation availability and acknowledgement targets are defined in the service agreement after confirming operational capacity. No plan implies 24×7 coverage by default.

Do you guarantee uptime or fixed restoration times?

No general uptime or restoration guarantee is offered on this page. Targets depend on dependencies, access, third-party services and a scoped operating agreement.

Can AI agents automatically repair production servers?

Not by default. AI may assist investigation and propose a runbook. Privileged actions require explicit policy, approvals and accountable execution, with safe stop conditions.

Which Linux distributions and hosting models are in scope?

RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and related server estates may be assessed across on-premises, virtualized and cloud hosting. Acceptance depends on version, lifecycle, access and supportability.

Does monitoring include backup restoration testing?

Backup status review and restoration exercises are separate activities. Tests are planned and contracted with explicit data ownership, recovery objectives and safe test conditions.
